Staying healthy

Check out simple ways to stay healthy without too much effort.

Sexual health

Getting contraception
Contraception is free for most people in the UK, and there are 15 types to choose from.
Most methods of contraception won’t protect you against catching or passing on a sexually transmitted infection (STI). Condoms are the only method that protects against both STIs and pregnancy.

Where can you get it?

You can get contraception and condoms free from:

  • most GP surgeries (talk to your GP or practice nurse)
  • community contraceptive clinics
  • some genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinics
  • sexual health clinics (these offer contraceptive and STI testing services)
  • some young people's services

You can find your nearest sexual health service, including contraceptive clinics. Many of them offer information, testing and treatment for STIs, including Chlamydia.

Ways to keep yourself and your family healthier

Healthy eating for the family

Keeping yourself and your children healthy isn’t always an easy task, especially with today’s busy lifestyle, and if you are a working parent or still in education it becomes even harder to fit in a good healthy routine which is where fast food restaurants have all been able to target us. But with enough determination, desire and perseverance you may be able to put healthy home cooked meals on the table every night for diner.

There has been a huge increase in child obesity over the years and no parent no matter their age would want their child to be in that position, so the best way to avoid that is to take control of what your family eats.

Here is a list of some of the world’s healthiest foods.
