Chocolate chip cookies

Cook time:15 minutes


  • 170g self-raising flour, sifted
  • 85g butter
  • 85g brown sugar
  • 2-3 drops vanilla essence
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 eggs
  • 85g granulated sugar
  • 75g chocolate chips
  • 60g walnuts, (optional)


  1. Grease two baking trays.
  2. Cream the butter with the sugar and vanilla essence.
  3. Beat in the egg.
  4. Fold in the flour and salt with the nuts and chocolate chips.
  5. Drop spoonfuls of mixture onto the baking trays and bake the cookies at 175°C, Gas Mark 4 for 12-15 minutes.
  6. Stand for 1 minute then place cookies on a wire rack to cool
