Getting back into shape

Did you jump around a few times this morning to get those jeans through your leg and when it finally goes up it won’t close? Well no worries. Most of us find it hard to get our flat stomach after birth (or even years after). Here are some healthy ways to lose few pounds without a gym membership because let’s face it, it costs a lot and who’s got time for that anyway? (Unless they have free babysitters at the gym)

Eat to live don’t live to eat: try not to eat more than you need, eat appropriate portions and don’t miss breakfast as this can create an urge to eat more at lunch time.

Eat healthy: we are what we eat! Eat good things and you will feel and look better. Things to eat to lose belly fat include broccoli, nuts (no peanuts), avocados, eggs, beans, olive oil, oatmeal, green tea, and lean meat and more.

Move your body: walk, run, dance whatever you do get your body moving. As parents we don’t have much time to spend on ourselves, but take 15 minutes out of your day and give it to your body. There are many apps now to track your walking distance and to help you keep track of what you eat, check them out some are pretty convincing.

Sleep: sleeping does not make you lose weight it helps if you don’t want to eat late. Staying up late

Plan your meals: if there is a little time in your hands why not make a meal plan or even prepare your meals in advance so you know exactly what you will be having for the day or the week?

Drink WATER!! A gallon a day (about 3 litres) is recommended. You’ll be surprised at how effective this is.
